This article examines the Poseidon archetype and its effects on the characteristics of social dress and the expression of emotions in men. Using psychoanalytic theories and mythological analyses, it examines how the Poseidon archetype, as a powerful force in the collective unconscious, influences men’s behavioral patterns, identities, and clothing choices. Representing unconscious forces and intense emotions, this archetype plays a role in the formation of a type of masculine identity in which dress is used as a means of expressing power and controlling emotions. The article also examines how dress and the way in which emotions are expressed, as external reflections of unconscious influences, can be a reflection of deeper psychological and cultural processes that help shape masculine identity. To achieve this goal, data from 336 individuals were used. A random sample of 25-50 men was taken and the data were analyzed using SPSS software in the form of descriptive statistics including frequency and percentage. According to the results, about 10.71% of Iranian men have this archetype as a dominant one. The study shows that the Poseidon archetype plays an important role in shaping the characteristics of social cover and the way men express their emotions. The analysis shows that this archetype, which is associated with strength, depth of emotions, and emotional instability, can act as an influential unconscious force in creating masculine identity. Men who are influenced by this archetype often use cover and behaviors that express power and dominance, while trying to control or hide their emotions. These findings suggest that male clothing and identity patterns are not only the result of conscious choices, but also a reflection of deeper psychological and cultural influences that operate at an unconscious level. This study contributes to a better understanding of the complex relationship between male psychology, identity, and clothing practices in different social contexts, and paves the way for further research into the interactions between psychoanalysis, culture, and art.
