In calligraphy writing, besides beauty, attention is paid to the quality and position of the letters according to their order and reading, so that the audience can easily understand the order and relationship between the letters in each word, to understand them. Don't be difficult. In Persian calligraphy, Nastaliq is called the bride of lines.During the past few centuries, many artists have written Nastaliq and each of them has tried to perfect their works in this field. The following article aims to find out how calligraphers deal with the quality of the placement of letters in words, using a descriptive, analytical and comparative method. It selects examples of line writing and cross-stitch in two Safavid and contemporary styles; a selection of works by Mir Emad al-Hassani and Gholam Hossein Amirkhani as indicators; and then, through comparison, describes and analyzes the quality of the combination and placement of letters in their words. The main question of how Nastaliq letters are placed in the works of the two calligraphers is the main question and the parallels between Amirkhani's and Mir Emad's writings are of interest in this research. How important was the combination and arrangement of letters in a word and ultimately a line in proportion to the semantic load of the word in the two styles? The findings of the research, while explaining the specific characteristics of the works and the points of similarity and difference between each of the similar examples of the two artists, indicate that in Mir-Emad's works, the combination and arrangement of letters in words is in accordance with the direction of the audience's gaze, fluent reading, and basically the acceleration of the comprehension of the meanings of words is considered, and observing this point has been of great importance and precision, while in Amirkhani's works, this issue has not been given much attention, and only the arrangement of the components of a word is often important in terms of composition and the good proximity of letters and words.
