The transformation of the concept of aesthetics in contemporary art has led to a radical departure from traditional definitions of beauty, elevating artistic politicization to a pivotal element. This study demonstrates how this rupture has not diminished the value of art; instead, it has provided a fertile ground for expanding the aesthetic realm into critical, social, and political dimensions. Understanding these developments is crucial for guiding future research and shaping audience engagement with contemporary art. The central inquiry investigates how contemporary art, by transcending the boundaries of mere beauty, has evolved into an institutional tool for social critique and political activism. To explore this, we analyze "The Wall of Peace" and "The New World Summit" project, both featured at the 7th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art. This Biennale was chosen for its critical approach and its focus on contemporary social and political issues, showcasing works that reflect the integration of politicization into the structure and content of contemporary art. "The Wall of Peace" by Nada Prlja was selected for its explicit demonstration of a break from traditional aesthetics and its emphasis on the impact of contemporary art on social activism. "The New World Summit" project was chosen as an example of a novel aesthetic experience. Therefore, the research aims to elucidate the redefinition of aesthetics in contemporary art and the integration of politicization within it. This study employs a qualitative, analytical-critical approach, utilizing content analysis to examine the two selected artworks. The findings emphasize that the redefinition of aesthetics in contemporary art not only legitimizes new artistic forms but also highlights art's potential for social agency. For instance, "The Wall of Peace" compelled residents of a neighborhood to organize a collective response to this barrier and artwork, while "The New World Summit" transforms art into an active force for transforming consciousness and redistributing sensible matters.
