Repetition includes an important part of art, especially in contemporary art and it can include repeating lines, colors, patterns or symmetrical or asymmetrical forms as a visual tool. Simple repeated forms are considered as a visual artistic tool and presented as a tool or model in many places in various forms and arrangements, such as repeating images or presenting the work in a plural volume form. The visual and conceptual impact of this technique in contemporary art has caused the creation of many styles and references to various concepts such as art production, identity or materialism, especially after postmodernism, when concepts such as the uniqueness of the work or the artist's creativity have faded. Meanwhile, repetition has also been studied through the lens of philosophy, which can be referred to the theories of Gilles Deleuze. Deleuze believes that repetition, while being the same, can be perceived differently through a set of actions or thoughts. He places repetition in a broader context and mentions it as a factor for difference in meaning, free expression and creativity. This article, with the aim of studying the place of repetition in video art and video arrangement, tries to answer the question of what is the role of repetition in video art and that repetition affects the concept of the work. The current research, which is descriptive-analytical-adaptive and using documents and library resources and internet resources on the works of Marie-Joe Lafontaine, a Belgian-German artist, has tried to study video art and video installation and investigate and research their role in relation to repetition. The findings of the research show that repetition in video art can create a change in its concept and meaning, and on the other hand, video installation by using the repetition in the video and the type of presentation of the work make transformation and pluralism in the concept of the work.
